Why hair length matters
Many clients ask me the same question. Was I meant to trim before? What length should I have for my appointment?
For the best result you would ideally want to have 4-6 weeks of hair growth since your last wax, or if you are new to waxing, and have shaved previously 2-4 weeks since your last shave.
If you happen to pass this point, and leave your appointment to about 6-8 weeks I would prefer to do the trim on the day of your appointment.
Reasons behind this are:
You may trim too short and I won’t be able to remove all of the hairs.
You trim at the point of 6 weeks and see how far you can push your appointment. This results in strengthening your hair roots almost setting you back.
As we all know hair has 3 hair growth stages which is about 28 days, in my experience it may differ person to person. We aim to remove the hair with the hair bulb that is still attached to its blood supply, by doing this we weaken the blood supply eventually resulting in no blood supply no hair. With all that being said, people who are just starting, or are new to waxing your hair growth/ hair length will be different . It usually takes few sessions to get all of the hair same length. Only then you can start concentrating on hair growth reduction by keeping your appointments to 4-6 weeks.
